Ismailia Road 1967

Based on the scenario in the SOTCW Journal 67, but as no one makes AMXs in 10mm and we don’t have large enough forces to match the OOB there have been substantial changes. 2000pts.

A mixed infantry battalion with a company of T-34s is withdrawing back towards Egypt while elements of the 4^th Armoured Division are heading the other way. In the middle they are both surprised to encounter the Israeli M/100 Armour Battalion. The battle is for 12 turns and takes place at night…

The arabs arrive from both the east and west but are suprised by the IDFand the infantry battalions first units suffer several casualties.

The arab infantry forces continue to suffer as the IDF close in but to the west the T-55's are massing!

Some of the Arab infantry try to make a break for it in the dark, the T-55s mass their fire and cause a number of causalties.

Arab infantry are creeping down both side sof the board but the he IDF are taking heavy casualties from the T-55's are moving slowly forward on mass.

The T-55s roll into town avoiding a minefield that turned out to be a dummy anyway, they finish off the IDF armour and then head towards the exit. Mean while two stands of infantry start a firefight that will last for five turns!

The armoured battalion escape without casualties.

The IDF FAO appears out of the darkness (he is in fact their second as the first was killed earlier), finally getting into visual range he attempts to call arty in on his own head, luckly he fails!

The infantry dual continues while the other two elements of the infantry battalion start a long journey towards the exit by swinging the other way around the town.

The armoured infatry finally manage to cross the exit line, while the two stand infantry dual continues.

The infantry dual finally ends with the IDF killing the Arabs.

The remaining two units of the Arab infantry unit make if off the board,

Outcome:

19 Arab units escaped and 19 were destroyed so I guess thats a draw, however the IDF was reduced to five infantry stands.
