CWC Game 1

Page history last edited by Dave Roper 12 mos ago

Its May 1986, the music's bad and the hair cuts are worse. The mighty mechanised hordes of the Soviet Union have finally launched their long feared attack against the west. Having pasted over the border into West Germany the battlegroup of Colonel-General Alanov is advanced unoppossed. Until they reach the outskirts of the small town of Grunchen-fal, where they roll straight into Brigader Dave Davidson's battlegroup, let battle commence....

The Soviets formed into three on table groups electing not to use their transport helicopters.

Both sides advanced up the table, but there was little fire except for some very inaccurate artillery fire.

Turn 2 and 3:

The Soviets advanced towards the town while the British took up positions outside the town and opened fire, the Soviets seemed to be determined to pick off the British infantry and transports.

Turn 4 and 5:

The British Chinook arrived to deploy its infantry but under heavy fire they arrived suppressed, this was followed by a large amount of close assault and close quarters fire.

Mean while a Soviet T-80 mounted a small hill and refused to move until the British finally managed to issue 5 successive orders to one of their Challengers who flanked and destroyed the offending tank.

How ever the Soviets did manage to inflict enough casualties to force the British to take a break test…

Which they passed.

Attack choppers appeared for both sides but were mainly driven off.

The Soviets helped the situation by blundering a command role and knocking out three of their own units.

Both side continued to fight brutally and by the end of turn 5 both sides needed to take break tests…

Turn 6:

The Brits needed under 8, the Soviets needed snake eyes!

The British won!
