One of Our Choppers is missing!

In this game the role of the Iraqi army will be played by 1967 Israelis and 1980s Soviets, the Americns will be played by 1980s Cold War Americans and 1993 Black Hawk Down Americans!

A US Observation chopper has been shot down in the town of EL-Kupt, in Iraq, a battle-group has been dispatched to secure the crash site, however the Iraqis expecting this are waiting to surprise the western dogs!

The US battle-group splits into three formations and rolls out, the flanking force and the 2nd group both fail to make an appearance, leaving only the Cos group of humvees, trucks and Abrahams to advance steadily down the centre, the Iraqis sit tight.

Iraqi scheduled artillery manages to land directly on top of the CO’s formation, KO’ing an M113, a Humvee and Reece Humvee, along with two sections of infantry, a great start for Sadamn’s boys!

Things are not however going to go all their own way as a flight of USAF A-10s drops cluster bombs on a farm house defensive postion, KO’ing a T-72 and Reece BRDM!  US artillery also drops a smoke screen across the centre of town to provide some cover.

As the CO’s already hammered formation attempts to press on they are ambushed by two 4x4s mounting Recoilless Rifles, who pour fire into one of the Abrahams suppressing it it! (Where are my beloved Challengers when I need them/??) Massed fire from assorted US forces KO’s one of the 4x4s!

To add insult to injury the other US formation fail to make an appearance.

Iraq 5 – 1 USA!

With confidence high in the Iraqi army they set about shooting down the US FAC in his helicopter and a barrage of artillery KO’s one of the Abrahams which has suffered badly form Recoilless rifle fire in the imitative phase!

Things are not going entirely to plan for the Iraqis, a section of US infantry load up their AT-4 and obliterate the remaining 4x4!

The US flankers once again fail to appear, the 2nd US formation crosses the bridge in an attempt to clear out the left flank of the Iraqi position.

The US flanking force finally arrives behind the Iraqi farmhouse position at the same time as Infantry from the CO’s force reach it, a prolonged fire fight inside the farm house is ended by the US of an AT-4 as an anti-personnel weapon! The newly arrived TOW humvee makes short work of a T-72s rear end and the USMC rapidly close assaults two mortar sections laying waste to them!

Mean while the USAF is back, they are going after a building full of Iraqi infantry and observers, however they are driven off by AA fire.

Over on the left flank the Pattons start a long range dual with a Spandrel, which the eventually win!

Things are starting to look up for the decadent west!

The USAF are once again driven off, that plane cost me 240pts and has done nothing, heads will roll!

On the left flank the Patton’s are left with the risky job of trying to get at two dug in T-72s, they can see one as well as the SAM launcher, which they promptly KO but the only way to get at the other one is to move into its line of fire, one Patton is KO’d as soon as it does but this leaves the other one free to nail the T-72, causing it to fall back, which since its dug in is a little hard, the  crew flee!

Mean while an impressive display of observation and artillery fire wipes out one section of the USMC assault force and once section of US infantry, the rest of the USMC are wiped out by machine gun fire from the Iraqi army!

US infantry charge into the SS-10 section and beat them to death!

Its break test time for the Iraqis, which they promptly fail!
